We had our first attempt at a fundraiser for our adoption this past weekend-a mondo yard sale! I thought it went quite well! I had asked some friends from my work to donate items for us to sell...my home ended up looking like a consignment store for the week I was getting it all together! I also became slightly "manic" and baked a lot of muffins, cookies, brownies, etc... to sell. Those actually went over really well! I think I would have been upset if they hadn't! I don't know about you all, but Garage Sales are a MAJOR PAIN IN THE BUTT! Just getting it all together and pricing everything...It is really great to get rid of everything in the end! We have "purged" our home of junk! Okay, okay, I DID keep a few items that I knew would sell on ebay, but otherwise we are "junk free" right now! We made about $400.00! Every little bit helps, especially if we fly to China when the gas prices are like 6 bucks a gallon or something dreadful like that! Anyway, I want to say thanks to all of my friends who stopped by to "support" us and also to all of my friends at work who donated things. It wouldn't have been much of a sale without all of our friends! Check out the "cool" poster I made! Steve made fun of me for making it. But, I wanted to let people know why we were having the sale and I also needed a picture for Taryns life book! Of course! I am ALWAYS looking for a photo op!
